Privacy Policy

CV and job description content: When you use TailorCV, you may upload or paste your CV and job descriptions. This content is sent to our AI processing APIs solely to generate your tailored CV. We do not persistently store your CV content on our servers. Data is processed transiently and discarded after your request completes.

Browser storage: Your CV data, selected template, and progress are saved in your browser's localStorage on your own device. This data never leaves your browser except when you explicitly trigger AI processing.

Usage data: We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage data (e.g. page views, feature usage) through analytics tools to improve the service. This data does not identify individual users.

Log data: Like most websites, our servers automatically collect standard log data including IP addresses, browser type, referring pages, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and is not linked to personal identity.

• To monitor and improve service security and performance
• To serve relevant advertisements (see Section 4)

We do not use your CV content for AI model training.

TailorCV uses third-party AI services to process your CV and job description content:

• OpenAI: Your content may be sent to OpenAI's API for AI processing. OpenAI's data usage policies apply. See openai.com/privacy.
• Google Gemini: If you select the Gemini model, your content may be sent to Google's Gemini API. Google's privacy policies apply. See policies.google.com/privacy.

We recommend not including highly sensitive personal information (e.g. government ID numbers, financial details) in your uploaded CV beyond what is standard on a professional resume.

TailorCV is a free service supported by advertising. We may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks, which may include Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing activity across websites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info.

Ad networks we may use: Google AdSense. These third parties have their own privacy policies governing their use of data.

TailorCV uses minimal cookies. Cookies are used for:

• Session functionality: Keeping your preferences (e.g. dark mode) consistent across page loads
• Analytics: Anonymised usage tracking to improve the service
• Advertising: Ad networks may set their own cookies (see Section 4)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect functionality.

We do not retain your CV or job description content on our servers beyond the duration of your API requests. Browser localStorage data persists on your device until you clear it or it is automatically cleared by your browser. Log data is retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, prompt injection defences, and input validation on all API endpoints. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

TailorCV is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including: access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. Since we do not persistently store CV content, most of these rights are automatically satisfied. For any data held in logs, you may contact us at privacy@tailorcv.live.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of TailorCV after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
